Interestingly, those yellow content boxes that you see on a lot of websites really draw people’s attention to the thing you’re trying to get them to download. And the best news is, they’re remarkably easy to implement.
They look like this:
Add this plugin to your site, then, wherever you want your stand-out content box to go, use this: [color-box]Content goes here[/color-box]. They’re much more effective than an opt-in box, and they’re not at all intrusive.
Once you’ve added them, go back to your posts (especially your ten most popular, according to Google) and add content boxes before your headers. As a rule, when I go back in and add them, I add them to the first place I have a subheader, and if the post is long, I sprinkle content boxes periodically throughout the post.
